My one issue is...
People who celebrate Christmas who do not believe in Jesus or don't follow the Christian/Catholic religion.
It is not just a gift giving occassion. To know the roots of where the gift giving came from, it came from the shepherds and the wisemen who came to visit Jesus on the day of his birth and give him what material belongings they could spare, since his family was poor, and also to celebrate his birth. This day is not Santa Claus, it is not reindeer, the true meaning is the birth of Jesus Christ...hence the name CHRISTmas. I will never understand why people who don't even follow the faith celebrate it anyway, when they are completely misconscrewing the entire idea of Christmas. It seems like a complete waste to me...the first thing that my family does on Christmas morning is eat breakfast together...and before we eat breakfast, we say our prayers. Basically, the day is not entirely about presents, although they are nice...in our family and in the families of other people who actually grasp the concept of Christmas, it is a celebration of the birth of our God's son.
Sorry for the rant, but celebrating Christmas for the materialistic point is idiotic...it is, and always has been, a Christian/Catholic holiday. If you are not one of those religions, why would you celebrate it?
